Math
All classes will be working on multiplying and dividing fractions. Most of the skills required were covered last year, like converting improper fractions to mixed numbers or mixed to improper and reducing fractions to the lowest term. We will also be discussing (again) some of the operational properties. For example, Commutative, Associative and Distributive.
Gonna be a very busy week.
As a reminder, we have homework every night except Friday. Work started in class must be completed and will generally be graded the next day. I am concerned about the lack of effort on the part of some of my kids. If your child is failing my class maybe we should have a brief phone conference. It is always possible to make up work from the current week for at least partial credit. I am hesitant to allow make up work from weeks ago. My focus is on what we are doing NOW! I will be making an increased effort on my part to make sure students have an opportunity to write in the math part of their planner daily.
